Free from GeekOutFridays

Find a problem people will pay to solve. Then build the fix with AI.

The Problem Solution Finder is a free prompt you paste into Claude. Give it a topic. It digs through Reddit, forums and reviews for what people in that world can't figure out, shows you their exact words, and hands you one small app you could build in an afternoon, with the prompt to build it.

What you get back

  • The problem, in their words. At least 8 real quotes, with where and when each one was said.
  • A score out of 21, so you know if it's worth money or just people venting.
  • The free-answer test. If Google fixes it in ten minutes, the Finder tells you to move on before you build anything.
  • One small tool a beginner can build. One screen, no logins, no API keys.
  • The build prompt, ready to paste into Claude, ChatGPT, Lovable, Bolt or Replit, with three test inputs so you can check the result.

It runs in claude.ai with web search turned on. The research takes 15 to 30 minutes, and most of that is Claude doing the searching.

What it found when we ran it live

We gave it one topic on a GeekOutFridays call: Etsy sellers.

It came back with sellers who can't tell what they actually made on each order once Etsy's fees come out. It scored 18 out of 21. Sellers were already paying $19 to $49 a month for tools to work it out, which is the clearest sign a problem is worth money.

Its pick: a free one-page Order Profit X-Ray that reads Etsy's monthly statement and lists every order's real profit, worst first. Small enough to build in an afternoon. Useful enough that a seller would trade an email address for it.

Who made it

Damon Nelson and Wayne Atkinson run GeekOutFridays. Every other Friday at Noon Eastern we build one working marketing system live, with members asking questions as we go. The Problem Solution Finder came out of one of those sessions, and it's yours free.
